Should there be a sighting of Whales along this route (very common),we will spend some time viewing these majestic marine mammals. Shortly after driving through Clarens Drive, we pass though the towns of Rooi Els, Pringle Bay and Cape Hangklip before entering the town of Betty’s Bay which was a whaling station until the 1930’s.
Here at Stony Point is where you will have a close encounter with the African Penguin (Speniscus demerus). Spend some time at the penguins before we continue our journey toward the quaint little town of Hermanus to meet with the boat for some close up whale watching.
This excursion normally lasts between 2 to 3 hours and you will be brought up close to these mammals that trek here every year between July and November to mate and calve. After your Boat trip we will have the opportunity for lunch in the center of town whilst viewing the whales from one of the many restaurants along Walker Bay.
After the walker Bay visit and before we make our way back to Cape town via sir Lowry’s Pass we stop at Peregrines farm stall for some shopping where you could find some natural products, jams, Pastries, Teas and many other nice little treats.( This is for your own account and time permitting)
We return via Sir Lowry’s Mountain Pass for a spectacular view of the False Bay coastline. Please note that the sighting of the Whales is not guaranteed, but that every effort will be made to see these majestic marine mammals.
